Our goal is to provide customers with a turnkey process for remodeling an existing kitchen from time of sale to completion in an average of 6 to 8 weeks:
Our Process
In Home design consultation and product selection
Our process starts with a FREE in-home consultation. Our designer will listen to your ideas for your new kitchen, and then show you a variety of product samples and brochures for the purpose of selecting:
· Cabinet Door Style, Woods, and Finish
· Countertops
· Sinks
· Faucet
· Appliances
Next, our designer will first measure the walls, windows, and doors of your existing home. The designer will enter the measurements and product selection into kitchen design software on a laptop computer. Together, you and the designer will design a complete new kitchen, which will come to life in 3 dimensional views, and in many cases in less than 30 minutes!
The designer will prepare detailed specifications and provide you with an exact price for your new kitchen. If you elect to proceed, you and the designer can execute all necessary paperwork at this time. If you desire financing, our designer will put you in touch with our credit team and arrange competitive financing at this time.
Step 2 - Showroom Visit and/or Preconstruction Conference
If you are unsure of your product selections you can visit our showroom after the initial consultation, at which time we can finalize product selections and complete any remaining paperwork and financing. After this, we will have our production manager and design consultant meet at your home for a preconstruction conference. At this time we will verify all measurements, which normally takes less than one hour.
Step 3 - Material Ordering
Our production department will upload your cabinet order directly to Wellborn’s computers to begin the manufacturing process. Wellborn takes only 4 weeks on average to manufacture your cabinets. At this time, we will also order counter, sink, faucet and flooring materials. During the manufacturing process we will set up a preliminary schedule of your remodel.
Step 4 - Demo, removal and preparation for new kitchen
We will not begin removing your existing kitchen until we have received the cabinets from the manufacturer. Prior to us arriving, you will need to empty all existing cabinets and move any tables or other obstacles that me be around the area where the new cabinets will be installed.
First we will demo and remove the cabinets, counters, sinks, range hood and old appliances. We will also demo soffits, backsplash and walls if included in the scope of work. Crews will then reframe wall openings, hang and tape and finish drywall. If soffit and modifications are required, upwards of another week will be required before the kitchen is operational
Step 5 - Crews will deliver and install your cabinets
The average kitchen installation takes about a week. You will not have access to your sink, stove/oven, or other appliances during this time. Now is a good time to dine out!
Your new kitchen may be functional within the first week. Countertop lead-time and installation varies depending on the countertop material you chose. Example: A laminated countertop will be ready within several days.
For solid surface, Staron quartz or granite countertops template will be scheduled and done after the base cabinets are installed. It will take about 10-14 days to fabricate and then another day or two for installation. A temporary sink and counter surface can be installed for a nominal fee.
Why Quartz vs. Granite?
Quartz counters are manufactured with nearly 100 percent quartz. In contrast, granite may contain only 50 percent quartz. The other minerals found in granite leave it soft, porous, and vulnerable to scratches and stains. Quartz is second only to water as the most common mineral-based material on our planet. It is one of the hardest materials on earth, ranking only behind diamonds, topaz, and sapphires.
Staron quartz countertops are made with a mixture of 93 percent quartz and 7 percent resins and pigment. The high percentage of quartz results in a product that is non-porous, exceedingly durable, and more than twice as strong as granite.
Raw quartz is ground into crystals ranging in size from coarse grains to the size of rock salt. The crystals are then combined with bonding agents and pigments, then heated and vibro-compacted to form an impenetrable surface.
The resulting slabs have a quartz matrix that won't develop fissures or cracks. The surface is solid and remains impervious to water, moisture, or bacteria. Also, since Staron quartz countertops are engineered using a controlled process, quality-control measures exist that are not possible for natural granite.
Samsung warranties their Staron Quartz for 10 years.
